"A Shinto shrine situated along Prefectural Route 212 in Kawakami, Yamato-cho, Saga City. Founded in 564, the shrine has been revered as the most important in what was Hizen Province and what is now Saga Prefecture since 1161. A stone on the shrine's ground's known as ""Konsei-san"" is said to bless worshippers with children. Situated along scenic Kawakami Gorge, the grounds are also filled with natural beauty, including a huge camphor tree some 1,500 years old."

肥前の一之宮

旧国府にはそれぞれ第一の神社と指定されている格式の高い一之宮というものがあります（TV番組「ごりやくさん」で得た知識）。ここは肥前の国の一之宮です。祭神はその名の通り皇族の祖先にあたる與止日女様、嬉野温泉に祀られている水の神豊玉姫様と同一神だそうです。水神にふさわしく雄大な嘉瀬川のほとりにあり、川風が吹いて気持ちのいい場所です。境内には圧倒されるほどの巨古木がそびえ立ち神聖な気持ちになります。
