Niyodo River
This class A river flows through Kochi Prefecture. The river flows 124 kilometers from its source in the foothills of Mount Ishizuchi?, the tallest mountain in west Japan, before spilling into the Pacific Ocean. Known as one of the clearest of all the rivers in Japan, the color of its glittering clear blue water is referred to as Niyodo Blue. The river's watershed is dotted with numerous scenic spots including Yasui Gorge, Nakatsu Gorge, and Nikobuchi.
