This memorial museum is located on the side of Prefectural Route 34 in Sanbashidori 4-Chome, Kochi City. The museum features exhibit on Tosa in the early modern period with a focus on the Freedom and People’s Rights Movement, Japan’s first national democracy movement. In the Minkenza theater, which recreates the atmosphere of the venues where members of the Freedom and People’s Rights Movement gave speeches, visitors can view a film about Ueki Emori, one of its key members. In addition to exhibit halls, the museum’s other facilities include a gallery, an event hall, a library, a local information room, and even a restaurant.

意外に勉強になった場所でした

車で行きましたが、とさでんの電停(桟橋車庫前)から徒歩圏内の場所でした。駐車場は併設されていました。とさでんの一日乗車券があれば割引の対象でした。高知出身者を中心にした自由民権運動の資料館です。展示だけでなく映像上映もありました。このあと市内中心部などで民権運動の活動家の生誕地などを歩いたので、ここで見たことが予備知識として役に立ちました。勉強になる施設でした。展示は2Fで、1Fは市民講座のような...
