Miurart Village Art Museum

Planned by Miura Group founder, the late Tamotsu Miura, this art museum was completed in 1998. Works of art from around the world are displayed outdoors including his own ceramic works, Miurato. At the art museum you can try glazing your own ceramic tile before seeing it fired in the impressive vigor of 1,200-degree heat. The building was designed by modern architect Itsuko Hasegawa around the design of an unequal quadrilateral shape. The deeper you explore in the building the higher the ceiling raises, giving the interior a mysterious quality.

桜が綺麗

こぢんまりした美術館ですが、園内に桜が綺麗に咲いていて、変わったオブジェや壁画が飾ってあり、ちょっとした異空間が体感出来ます。今回は館内に展示された焼物の器の展示会を見てきましたが、不思議なデザインのアートが多数展示されていました。

独創的な建物です。美術館自体はそんなに広くはないのですがその分アットホームな雰囲気です。庭も整備されていてきれいです。地元の方が利用するのが多いのかも。

三浦工業の創業者である三浦保さんが企画した美術館のようです。噂を聞いて、松山に行った際に初訪問です。えひめの挑戦者たちという芸術家の紹介を行う美術展が開催されていましたよ。
