Yakuoji Onsen Yumoto Io no Yu

This hot spring, the sacred spring of Iozan yakuoji Temple, was named when it was discovered on the mountainside when the temple was being built by the Buddhist priest Kukai in the year 815. The sulfur-containing sodium - chloride cold mineral springs have a wide number of purported benefits. The famous “Yakuyoke udon” served at the spa’s restaurant come with a piece of blessed rice cake to ward off evil and misfortune.

薬王子宿坊に隣接した日帰り温泉

薬王寺の宿坊と同じ敷地内にある日帰り温泉施設が薬王寺温泉。国道に面して便利な場所なので宿泊者より一般人の利用が多い。温泉は単純泉で露天はないが、洗い場は多く、ロッカーが大きいので、遍路の途中で休憩するには便利。日帰り温泉施設内に食事処がある。また宿坊内には中華そばの店がある。

中の温泉は小さめです。露天もありません。汗をかいた後に流すぐらいなら丁度良いかも。地元の人やお遍路途中などで利用するのでも良さそうです。食事する場所もあります。今回は食事しなかったのですが、メニューも色々あるのでお腹すいていたら良いかと。食事場所以外の休憩場所はかなり小さめです。
