Uzushio Kisen

This tourist boat offers up-close views of the Naruto Strait whirlpools, which is counted as one of the world’s three fastest currents and said to be the world’s largest in size. The high-speed passenger boat operates out of Kameura Fishing Port, the closest port to the whirlpools. Trips take about 20 minutes. A shop located at the ticket counter offers a wide range of souvenirs including Naruto wakame, the local brand of brown edible seaweed; merchandise related to the popular “Shishamo-Neko” character; Setouchi-themed snacks; and Naruto Kintoki, a notable local sweet potato confection.
