Amami Gunto National Park

Park / Green Space
This is the 34th national park located in the southern region of Kagoshima Prefecture with a theme of “the sub-tropical island full of life.” The largest national sub-tropical evergreen forest is situated in the Amami Gunto (Amami Islands) with high temperatures and humidity and is home to a variety of wildlife such as the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi). Some of the wonderful activities include exploring the picturesque seaside scenery, canoe experiences in the mangroves, diving, as well as looking at the sea from glass-bottom boats.
