Ise-Shima National Park
This is a vast national park boasting an area of about 60,000 hectares spreading across the Shima Peninsula, Mie Prefecture. There are many places to see such as Ise Jingu Shrine, with a history of approximately 2,000 years and is a place of worship, a managed forest grown to supply building material for the shrine from 1,300 years ago, the rias coastline of Shima Peninsula, Mt. Asama, Toba and the Yokoyama Observatory etc. The Yokoyama Visitor Center in the area displays the natural environment of Ise-Shima National Park and brochures in various languages are provided.
