Ogasawara National Park
It is a national park designated in the October of 1972. It consists of subtropical islands located about 1,000 kilometers south of the Japanese archipelago. You can see such terrain and geology that is unusual worldwide as pillow lava formed by the activities of submarine volcanos, boninite, and submerged karst, as well as rare animals and plants that have evolved independently on the oceanic island. You can enjoy whale watching, snorkeling, scuba diving in the beautiful sea with coral reefs. There are tourist associations on Chichi-jima Island and Haha-jima Island introducing various guided tours, also offering guidebooks and brochures.
