Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown
This Chinatown is ranked as one of Japan’s top three Chinatowns after Yokohama Chukagai and Kobe Nankinmachi. In an intersection of roads that extend out east, west, north and south for 250 meters altogether are more than 40 shops and the stone-paved road was built with the help of Fujian, Nagasaki’s sister city. Nagasaki’s local cuisine is chanpon (a dish of noodles, seafood, vegetables) and zaru-udon. In this new Chinatown visitors can enjoy chanpon and zaru-udon in various shops that are full of individual character. Try the various tastes of chanpon and zaru-udon while strolling through this Chinatown full of exotic atmosphere.
