Izumiyama Magnet Field

Other Sightseeing Spot
Pottery stone, a raw material used to make Arita ware, was excavated here. Pottery stone was discovered here by Korean potter Yi Sam-pyeong in the early Edo period, giving rise to the first porcelain produced in Japan. Highly collectible early and old Imari ware were also made with the pottery stone from this site. The site is no longer used for mining but visitors can view the area from beyond a fence.
