Kotohiki Beach (Kakezu Beach Resort)

Beach
A designated National Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument, this beach offers “singing sands” which make a pleasant squeaking noise when stepped on. The beach’s waters are extremely clear. Walk along its 1.8 kilometer length and you will find some portions make a sound like a drum. “Singing sands” are a sign that a beach is extremely clean and as the ashes from cigarettes disrupts this effect, no smoking is permitted on the beach. A free open-air bath where you can warm yourself in between swims is located in the middle of the beach.
