Hakone Gora Park

Botanical Garden
Located near Gora Station, the last stop on the Hakone Tozan Railway, Hakone Gora Park was Japan’s first French-style garden. The Park, which was opened in 1914, is a National Registered Monument. With wide-open spaces open to the sky and surrounded by mountains, the Park features a symmetrical design centered round a fountain. A wide variety of plants are grown in the Park, which is renowned for its flowers; the Park’s appearance changes with the seasons. A tropical plants house, tearoom and experiential activities center are situated within the Park, making it possible to engage in a range of different activities in the same visit.
