Ogata Whale Watching
Ogata Whale Watching is based in Kuroshio Town. Visitors are taken out to sea on boats captained by experienced fishermen, with the chance of seeing pods of Bryde’s Whale and Common Dolphins. The period between late April and late October is the best time to see whales and dolphins, with the period from late November to late March being the off-season. The boats depart from Irino Fishing Harbor in Kushiro Town. Irino Fishing Harbor is about 20–30 minutes’ walk from Tosa-Irino Station. The boat trip takes around four hours; tickets must be booked at least three days in advance.
