This is a museum located in Tomo Town, Fukuyama City. It collects and displays historic and cultural material related to Setouchi, focusing on Tomonoura and its harbor that relied on the tides for ships to be able to enter and leave, and flourished since the Manyoshu era. In addition to regular exhibitions such as a diorama of snapper fishery and an anchor making foundry, folk custom documents relating to Shinto priests, memorabilia of the koto musician Miyagi Michio, who was deeply involved in Tomonoura history, are also on display. Other exhibitions and special exhibitions are also held.

鞆の浦バス停から徒歩5分ほど。鞆城跡にある2階建ての博物館。入館料150円。展示室内撮影不可。訪館時、1階展示室の入口付近ではこの地に伝わる昔の雛飾りなどを展示した企画展「雛祭」を開催。その先は常設展示となっており、鞆の浦で使われていた漁具、神事の衣装・道具、保命酒店の実物大模型などを展示している。2階には鞆の浦にゆかりのある作曲家・宮城道雄のコーナーがある。「琴と言えばこの曲」と言えるほど有...

鞆の浦の港を見下ろす高台に、福山市鞆の浦歴史民俗資料館は建っていました。この場所は鞆城跡なんです。資料館には、鞆の浦に関する資料が展示されていました。また、前庭からの景色も素晴らしかったです。建物の横の広場には、宮城道夫の銅像が立っていました。鞆の浦にゆかりのある宮城道夫は、鞆の浦の様子を思い浮かべて、名曲「春の海」を作曲したそうです。
