Akankohan Eco-Museum Center introduces you to the lush nature in the Akan National Park Akan area. The Akan Marimo (round green algae) has been designated as a Special Natural Monument. The resting room has a big fireplace and is good for a rest after walking around the lake. You can hire the snowshoes and cross country skis. You can enjoy a walk on the Bokke nature trail which is behind the museum.

Lovely education center--hands on

Not a lot to see

There is not a lot to see here apart from some fish in aquariums and a few of the legendary Marimo algae balls. The main function when we visited appeared to be equipment hire of skis and snowshoes.

We came by to this museum to see the history of Akankoso and have more information on the Marimo which is a unique algae found only in Lake Akanko. It is free entrance.
