Izushi Castle Ruins

Castle / Ruins of Castle
These castle ruins are in Uchimachi, Izushi-cho, Toyooka City. The castle was built by Koide Yoshihide in 1604 and was later transferred to the Sengoku clan. Today you can see features like the corner tower that was reconstructed in 1968 on the site of the inner citadel. It's also a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, and they hold a cherry blossom festival in the spring.

    ツアーでフリータイムが100分貰え、散策しました。出石城は1604年に小出吉英により築かれた城です。明治元年に建物はすべて取り壊され、その後登城橋などが建てられました。紅葉が美しかったです。58000石の城下町です。

    出石城は山城の有子山城の天守部分を廃城し、有子山城の居城部分を出石城と命名した平山城で、天守閣はなく有子山稲荷神社が天守代わりになっています。堀や石垣などが現存していて、隅櫓、登城門、登城橋などが復元されていました。なんとなく違和感を感じる城跡でした。
