Himeji City Aquarium
This aquarium is in Tegarayama Central Park in Nishinobusue, Himeji City. Its main building has marine life including sea turtles, penguins, and schools of pilchard, and its annex is home to an African spurred tortoise and freshwater fish. A stream on the roof of the main building lets kids interact with the fish, and a biotope reproduces a typical pond from the Harima region. They regularly offer staff commentary and hold sessions where you can feed the marine life too.

- A good activity for younger children!
- The Himeji Aquarium seemed a great educational and fun activity for younger children. There are plenty of hands on activities as well, and the majority of the aquarium is indoors, though there is a...

- part of your adventure around Tegarayama
- went to see it on a weekend and there were some good exhibits, meant mainly for elementary school children and little people for the touching pool; many cities in the world and many locales in Japan...
