Lake Shikotsu Visitor Center
Lake Shikotsu Visitor Center is an exhibition facility that introduces the nature of Lake Shikotsu in a friendly way based on the theme: “Tothe forests, to the mountains, to the lake, another journey at Lake Shikotsu.” In the visitor center, where you are greeted by a stuffed brown bear, you can learn about the formation of Lake Shikotsu, the status of the volcano which is still active, and the ecology of the living creatures around Lake Shikotsu through videos, photographs and 3-D models.
