Onokorojima-jinja Shrine

This shrine is located in Enamishimohada, Minami Awaji City. Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto are the enshrined deities. It's been honored from ancient times as the sacred place in Japanese mythology where the two deities descended to the earth and created the nation. Worshiping there is thought to aid marriage and safe delivery of children. The shrine's 21.7-meter-tall vermillion-lacquered torii gate was built in 1982. A rare pine tree beside it called the Sanko-no-Matsu has three needles in each bunch that are considered a fortune symbol.

大きな鳥居が有る神社。無料で参拝出来る。国造りの発祥の場所。縁結びのご利益もあり、2人で綱を触ってお参りするところが有る。パワースポット。

ご祭神は伊弉諾命、伊弉冉命、菊理媛命とのことです。鳥居は非常に大きいのですが、神社自体の規模はこじんまりとされています。淡路島に３か所あるおのころ島の伝承地の一つです。近くに天の浮橋と葦原国がありおのころ島神社のHPでも紹介されています。大きな無料駐車場があります。
