Tenporinji Temple

"An ancient Shingon Buddhist temple founded in 806 located a 10-minute walk north of the ""Nakayama"" bus stop on the Sanyo Bus line route 12 leaving from the Tarumi-higashiguchi exit of JR and Sanyo Electric Railway Tarumi Station. The temple's honorific mountain name is the ""Ryugezan."" The temple's principal object of worship, a seated wooden statue of Amitabha, has been designated a National Important Cultural Property (not that this statue is not normally made viewable to the general public). The temple's Tsuinashiki, a ceremony to drive away evil spirits held each year on January 7, has been designated an Intangible Folk Cultural Property by the government of Kobe City. A variety of birds live in the mountains and forest surrounding the temple, and from late June through July, visitors can enjoy looking at the colorful lotus flowers blooming on the surface Benten Pond on the grounds, as well as listening to wild birds calling to each."

    住宅の中を抜けると 大きな古いお寺があるお堂も3つあり お正月には 鐘が鳴り響くであろう 立派に釣鐘堂もある神戸市垂水区最古のお寺で その歴史の深さが感じられる今は蓮が綺麗に咲き、蓮酒やおうどんスイカのおもてなしがありましたお堂で静かに心を落ち着かせるのには とても素敵なところです

    神戸13仏霊場の第一番霊場です。本尊、阿弥陀如来は重文指定を受けています。長い参道の両側の原生林は兵庫県指定の保護林にもなっています。かつての大寺院ですが現在では6つ程度の堂宇だけが残っています。ここは「子授け信仰」でも有名です。今回の13仏霊場巡拝の中では前半の最後の参拝寺としてここで一応、打ち止め。残りは又、来月に。

    家族で初詣に行ってきました。境内は混み合ってなくのんびりとお参りできました。周辺は階段と坂が多いので夜のお参りは足下にご注意下さい
