Aono Dam (Lake Senjoji)

A dam built along the Kuro and Aono Rivers in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture. The waters which accumulate here are used to supply the Hokusetsu / Hokushin area centering on Sanda City. The lake created by the dam is also known as Senjoji Lake, taking its name from Mt. Senjoji towering in the distance above it. The dam area is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty and there are a variety of facilities nearby which serve as relaxation spaces for local residents, such as Aono Dam Side Park, and visitors can enjoy black bass fishing, barbecuing, boating, canoeing, and other activities in the area. The Aono Dam Museum displays Sue ware excavated from archeological digs in the area.
