Arima Fuji Shiitake Farm
A shiitake mushroom farm located a 10-minute drive from the Kobe-Sanda interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. Here year-round visitors can enjoy gathering shiitake mushrooms grown at the foot of Mt. Arima Fuji, as well as barbecuing with choice Japanese black beef and shiitake mushroom rice made with locally grown Sanda rice (the barbecuing area is indoors and is open even on rainy days). There's also rainbow trout and char fishing (September 15 to June 15) and catching ayu by hand (June 16 to September 14). Depending on the time of year, visitors can also enjoy chestnut gathering, rhinoceros and stag beetle collecting, and tasty botan nabe boar meat hotpot.
