Kikuseidai

Observatory / Outlook
An observatory located right next to Hoshi no Eki Station on the Maya Viewline ropeway and cable car connecting the foot and peak of Mt. Maya. Boasting a sweeping view encompassing not just the Kobe area but also stretching all the way to Osaka Bay and the Kii Peninsula, the observatory's scenery is some of the most picturesque in the Kansai region. The nightscape created by the glittering lights of Kobe and Osaka is considered one of the three best in Japan. The sight of the streetlights in the area coming on after sunset is particularly stunning. Visitors should also be sure to check out the magical Maya Kirakira Komichi, a walking path embedded with sparkling, luminescent flakes.
