Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art
Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art opened in 1977 near downtown Sapporo. It runs its activities based on the themes of Hokkaido’s regional and international characteristics. In addition to the Modern Art Collection Exhibition, which features the museum’s collection from a variety of angles, it plans and holds special exhibitions to introduce outstanding works from Japan and overseas. It has also undertaken some unique initiatives such as running traveling art museums all around Hokkaido.
