ずいぶん久しぶりに埼玉県立近代美術館に行きました。1Fは常設展のMOMASコレクション、2Fは企画展です。MOMASとは、埼玉県立近代美術館（The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama）のことです。入館料は常設展のみだと200円、企画展も合わせると1,200円でした。わずか200円で気軽に見ることができるので、ぶらっと立ち寄るのも良いと思います。

エデンの園のイヴだというF・ボテロの巨大な彫刻がで迎えてくれている美術館はガラガラ。開催の第一期のMOMASコレクション展には六十余点の作品が展示されていたが、その殆どは寄贈されたもので足をとどめるほどものは少なく、杉山寧の「三宝柑」や白木正一の「生まれくる」などが目を引く程度だった。ただスタッフに案内された館外階段に設置されていた3体の彫像は一見に値した。奄美出身で埼玉在住だった故「重村三雄」の...
公園とセットで楽しめる

北浦和駅から歩いてすぐの北浦和公園内にある。今回は上田薫展で訪れたが、シャガールなどの作品も所蔵しているので、コレクション展で行っても楽しめそうだ。建物の設計は黒川紀章。公園内には無料で見られる屋外展示が点在しており、訪れた時は木が紅葉し始めていてきれいだった。おいしいレストランもあって、いろいろな楽しみ方ができる美術館だ。
