Shirahama Kaiyo Museum
This museum is composed mainly of items related to the ocean, and permanently exhibits the crafts and daily items of those who made a living through the sea. In addition, it holds more than 600 exhibits such as maiwai (costume worn to celebrate bumper catches) when there were large hauls and figureheads placed on the bows of Japanese ships. You can enjoy visiting together with easy-to-understand explanations of materials related to marine art.
