"The Coastal Branch of the Natural History Museum and Institute, Chiba, has a permanent exhibit based on four themes: ""The Sea around Boso,"" ""The Many Faces of the Sea,"" ""The Natural Environment around the Museum,"" and ""Let's Play with the Ocean."" There are dioramas the depict the sea, beaches, and tidal flats of Boso along with rotating seasonal exhibits that about the surrounding natural environment. These exhibits bring visitors in close contact with the sea and natural environment around Boso. Occasionally, the museum sponsors nature study session and other outdoor events, as well as holding specimen preparation events and experiential learning sessions at the Ocean Experience Corner."

入場料200円とお手頃価格の割に、充実した房総の自然を堪能できました。お勧めです。展示の仕方などは王道ですが、房総半島の地形、自然などがわかりますよ。なお、魚、貝、鳥などの標本が結構ありました。

入館料200円は安いだろう。興味がない方にとってはまったくダレトクな情報かも知れないが、房総に住む魚をはじめとした海の生き物たちの生体や生息場などの情報が網羅されている。生体展示こそないが、模型やはく製を使った立体ビジュアルによる展示や実際に触れたりすることもできる展示があって楽しい。子供だけでなく大人の鑑賞にも耐える。中にはちょっと狙ったかという展示、例えば海岸の観察、磯の観察、海中の観察の服装...
トイレ休憩兼ねて

生き物はほとんど居ませんが標本や剥製でよく出来た博物館です。海中展望塔のトイレが汚くて利用したくないので入館料200円払ってもこちらのトイレを利用して良かったです。
