秋のかかし祭りがお勧め

袋田の滝を見たついでに偶然寄りました。北茨城の地元の雰囲気が出ているような場所です。かかし祭りはいろいろなところでやってますが、ここは藁で編んだ作品が多く、バラエティも豊かです。丁度終わったラグビーワールドカップを題材にした作品（リーチマイケルなど）も多く楽しめました。袋田の滝から花貫渓谷の間にあるので、紅葉散策のルートに挟むといいでしょう。
かかし祭り

秋になってちょうどかかし祭りをやっていた時期で途中で寄ることにしました。かかしは本当に見る価値があって藁で作った伝統的なものと他の素材で作った有名人やアニメのキャラクターにそっくりのものがありました。施設としてはピザづくりなどを体験できる場所と安く宿泊できる場所、さらに外の舞台とイベント広場があります。料理も出してくれれば完璧です。
