This soccer stadium is located a two-minute walk from Kashima Soccer Stadium Station on the Oarai Kashima Line. Built in 1993 as Japan's first fully-fledged dedicated soccer stadium, the facility is used as the home stadium of the J1 League Kashima Antlers. Sprinklers, underground heating, and other methods are used to maintain the condition of the stadium's natural grass field, and, during the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the stadium's characteristics were utilized for world-class play.

アクセスの悪い場所柄か、スタジアムグルメの充実ぶりはすごい。名物のハム焼や串焼きは、サイズがビッグで食べ応えがある。一気に食べないと冷めて脂っこくなるのが難点だが・・
モツ煮が人気

アウェイゲートから入って、階段を上がったところに売店がある。その中でも、一番行列ができていたのは、モツ煮のお店だった。隣の席のサポーターももつ煮を食べていた。食べようとしたが売り切れだった。残念。

ビジターサイドの場合は通常店舗は1店舗なのだが、今年のマリノス戦はサイド側を全面開放したので2店舗展開となった。オムカレー、オムソバの店が出ていました。当方はホーム側から初めてハム焼きを調達。美味しすぎて感動した。ホームサポーターはいつもこんな美味いもん食ってるのかー。
