Kamakura City Farmers’ Market
A farmer’s market located a two-minute walk from JR Kamakura Station along Wakamiya Oji. The market first opened in 1928 and is known among locals as the “Renbai,” a contraction of its Japanese name (Nokyorensokubaijo). Local famers sell their goods here on a daily rotational schedule, and both locals and tourists come here to buy fresh vegetables and flowers direct from their producers. In addition to traditional Japanese vegetables, an abundance of Western vegetables are sold at the market, and this expansive selection, popular among local chefs, makes the market definitely worth a visit.
