映画文化の記念館

鎌倉散策中、鶴岡八幡宮から横須賀線へ抜ける道沿いにありました。月曜日に行ったところ休館日でした。毎週月曜日が休館日で開館は9時から17時です。説明板があり、映画文化の発展に貢献した川喜多長政・かしこ夫妻の旧邸跡で、映画資料を公開しているそうで、きれいな庭園もあり落着いた雰囲気がありそうです。

日本映画の資料館であり、昔の日本映画のポスターやトップスターの写真が飾られています。海外を含む映画の配給事業で大きな富を生み出すことに成功し、数多くのトップスターや名監督との華やかな交流を垣間見ることができます。奥には資料や図書を置いたスペースがあり、ゆっくり読むことができます。庭のアジサイもキレイでした。
