  It is a symbol of Takeo Onsen. Sakuramon, which was designed by Tatsuno Kingo, a famous architect, is the entrance gate of Takeo public bath and an important cultural property of Japan.

• 竜宮城を彷彿させるデザイン

  武雄温泉のシンボル的な建築物が、楼門です。武雄市は佐賀県の内陸部に位置していますが、竜宮城を連想させるデザインです。鮮やかな色彩と形を持つこの建物は、天平式楼門と呼ばれ、釘を一本も使っていないそうです。 東京駅や日本銀行本店を設計した辰野金吾の設計で、大正4年に完成しました。「なぜ東京駅などを設計した人が武雄の建築物を設計したんだろう」と思って調べてみると、辰野金吾は、佐賀県の出身でした。
