  (Provided by service)Connecting Shikoku and Honshu, this worlds-first three-stage suspension bridge runs across the Kurushima Strait—a rough spot of sea known as the three rapids whirlpool of Seto Inland Sea. The Kurushima-kaikyo Bridge stretches for 4.1 kilometers and features a road for motor vehicles, as well as a scooter lane and a bicycle/pedestrian lane. You can get a great view of the grand Seto Inland Sea from on top of the bridge. This place is also famous for its evening views, as it holds many nighttime illumination events regularly.

These three straights, the Kurushima, the Naruto, and the Bakanseto (Kanmon), are said to be the world's most challenging seas with waves to traverse, with wave speeds of up to 18 kilometers per hour. This whirlpool is one of Japan's largest as well as the Naruto straight and the Kanmon straight. Along with the whirlpools you can also view the world's first ever triple suspension bridge the Kurushima Straight Bridge, and the Imabari shipyards in the bay, making this a popular tourist destination with a lot of things to see.
