- Arguably the most visited tourist attraction on the Enoden line, the Kamakura Great Buddha, also known as the Kamakura Daibutsu is a towering 11.4 meter tall statue of Amida Buddha which sits on the Kotokuin Temple grounds. Originally cast in 1252, the temples that once housed the Buddha were destroyed, so since 1495 he’s been sitting in the open air battling the elements. He’s the country’s tallest bronze Buddha statue (the tallest can be found in Nara). Leading to the temple area you’ll find streets lined with various souvenir stores also worth visiting.
