It was opened in 1999 as a center to develop industries, arts and culture by making full use of the characteristic Seto-ware known as Seto-mono (pottery and porcelain). The Seto Ceramics & Glass Art Center consists of three buildings including the exhibition building with ceramics and glass art gallery, the workshop where visitors can see trainees at work, and the exchange building where pieces of work by craftsmen and trainees are displayed and sold, as well as a cafe.
