- (Provided by service)A museum located inside Aridagawa Railway Park in Aridagawa Town, Arida County, Wakayama Prefecture which was built on the grounds of Arida Railway Kanayaguchi Station, a station abolished in 2002. The museum displays dioramas replicating the routes of the Arida Railway and the scenery around Aridagawa, and patrons who bring their own N scale model trains can run them on the tracks. Outside the museum, visitors can view real Kiha 58 and Haimo 180 trains used on the railway up close; the museum also holds events in which the trains are operated and visitors can get on board. A fun destination for children and adults alike.

- (Provided by service)You’ll find this teahouse in the “Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings” in Yuasa Town, Arida County, Wakayama Prefecture. It was built in an old residence from around the end of the Edo period to the start of the Meiji period. The nostalgic earthen floor interior is always filled with music and has shelves with nearly 2,000 books. In addition to handmade cakes and Japanese sweets, there’s also homemade curry and rice, udon, and other popular dishes. You can bring in grilled fish and sashimi bought from the Kusuyama shop two doors down. Add them to the “rice set” that features Kinzanji miso and miso soup to create an original set meal.

- (Provided by service)When a tsunami was generated after a major earthquake in 1854, Hamaguchi Goryo set fire to the rice straw stacked in his own fields in order to guide the local villagers toward safety. This museum is comprised of two halls, Hamaguchi goryo Archives introducing the life of Hamaguchi Goryo and anecdotes relating to his character, and Tsunami Educational Center which conveys the dangers of earthquakes and tsunami as well as important disaster prevention knowledge. Game-based exhibits, videos, and simulators present disaster prevention information relating to the topics of first-aid, prevention, and recovery. Closest station: Yuasa Station.

The Nanba-yaki, a famous product of Nanki-Shirahama Onsen, is premium kamaboko using fresh fish caught in Kishu such as lizardfish and silver white croaker. In addition, the Gobomaki which is minced fish and burdock rolled in fish skin, then covered in traditional sauce before being grilled, is another popular specialty alongside Nanba-yaki.
