It is a lively place with events throughout the year, including the “Zenzai Festival” held every January and the “set bargain sale” held on the third Thursday of each month where all stores offer goods and fresh foodstuffs at prices at half or 1/3 of their regular price.

The guest house is a two-story Western style wooden building based on the Meiji period’s French Renaissance style, and the main rooms such as the reception rooms have marble fireplaces and feature elegant interior designs with lavish reliefs. It was designated as a National Important Cultural Pin 1984. A portion of the building is open to the public and available to tour. (Admission required)
