Odaiba’s newest and most popular attraction is the permanent installation of teamLab Borderless’s digital art museum. It is also known as the most Instagrammble place in Tokyo. TeamLab is an “art collective” formed by specialists that include artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, architects, and more.
The museum is called Borderless because it encourages exploration of different worlds. The Athletic Forest houses interactive artwork in which participants use their bodies to become part of the installation. Some popular exhibitions include illumination bouldering, featuring neon lights guiding climbers along the walls, and a bouncy house room where participants jump and float in a light installation showcasing constellations. Take a break at the museum’s En Tea House, a dark tea room where flowers magically bloom in glass tea cups.

    Oedo Onsen Monogatari

Not interested in the modern technology Odaiba is known for? Take a trip back to the Edo period in the Oedo Onsen Monogatari, a large onsen and relaxation space. The Oedo Onsen is the perfect spot to get a hint of old-school Japan. Yukatas are offered upon entrance and visitors can choose their design and style of the fabric and obi. The onsen area itself is quite large with a variety of baths to choose from. The communal area is decked out in Edo festival style, with a large food court and game stalls for children. Here, visitors can relax in their yukatas while eating or luxuriating in the foot baths.

    Picnic at Odaiba Seaside Park

Odaiba Seaside Park is located in one the best spots in Odaiba, with the perfect waterfront setting. You can’t swim at the beach but you can enjoy water sports such as windsurfing and paddle boarding. The water is surprisingly clear, even though it’s a bay in the middle of the city. You can enjoy a picnic on the green lawns while watching your children play in the water area. The replica of the American Statue of Liberty, which was constructed in 1998 as a symbol of Japan’s relationship with France, is in this park too.

  • In addition to the beautiful waterfront park, Odaiba is also known as a big shopping district, with plenty of shopping malls where you can spoil yourself. There are four large shopping malls within walking distance of one another - Decks Tokyo Beach, Aqua City Odaiba, Diver City Tokyo, and Pallett Town. Decks Tokyo Beach is a ship-themed shopping mall and is a two-minute walk from Odaiba Seaside Park Station on the Yurikamome Line. If you walk for five minutes to the west, you’ll arrive at Aqua City Odaiba where you’ll find restaurants with waterfront terraces! Walking south, you’ll eventually hit Diver City Tokyo where you can enjoy the Gundum Tokyo Base. From there, walk ten minutes east to experience another big mall with a Ferris wheel, Palette Town!

    Go-Karts

In Tokyo, it is of course possible to zoom around in go-karts. Crossing Rainbow Bridge to Odaiba’s waterfront is a popular place to do this, and the course is reminiscent of the courses in a popular video game. You can of course do this during the day but an evening drive in Odaiba along the Rainbow Bridge is a must. English-speaking guides are available and will help guide you through the busy streets.
