Located right next to Takeda station, this traditional style guesthouse sits just by Maruyama River and Teramachi Street. Takeda Castle Town Hotel EN

Takeda Castle Town Hotel EN is an impressive hotel with a popular on site restaurant. Situated within the castle town itself, Hotel EN was built inside a renovated sake brewery. Once owned by the local Kimura family, the current incarnation of the brewery was built in 1902.

The interior of the building has been kept as close to its early Meiji era design as possible. As well as accommodation, the Castle Town Hotel EN also has a banquet hall that was once a koji warehouse, and a Japanese garden.

The hotel has five rooms available, 'Sakura', 'Fuji', 'Keyaki', 'Katsura' and the dog friendly 'Kusunoki', each offering something different. Two rooms of note are the 'Katsura' room which features views of the Takeda castle ruins outside the bedroom window, and the ' Keyaki' room which is recommended for families with small children. However if you’re planning a luxurious getaway, it’s recommended you ask about 'Sakura' which is the hotel’s spacious VIP room.

The on-site restaurant serves French cuisine in the evenings, and all the dishes are crafted with locally sourced produce. The hotel offers access to a number of activities including the opportunity to participate in sculpture, ceramic and furniture making workshops. Sitting just three minutes from JR Takeda Station and located at the foot of the Takeda Castle Ruins, it’s an easy place to base yourself.

Takeda-machiya Terakoya Hanatei is a Japanese house that has been converted into a guesthouse located about a minute walk from Takeda Station. The hotel is separated into two houses known as ‘Ten’ (heavens) and ‘Sora’ (universe). The interior of the accomodation options vary, but they both maintain a Meiji era style atmosphere with Japanese paper coverings over the windows allowing soft light to flood the room. Only two groups of guests are able to stay here per night. The ‘Sora’ house features two connecting rooms, while the ‘Ten’ house is double story, with a lounge area on the first level and bedroom on the second. One of the best ways to get around Takeda is by bicycle, here at Terakoya Hanatei guests are able to rent bikes during their stay, just ask one of the friendly staff to help you out.
