Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU
Right in the center of the Hokkaido wilderness lies the Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU, which offers some of the most scenic views around from the comfort of your own room. Throw in some delicious food and a dizzying selection of activities and you’ll see why the charm of Hoshino Resorts’ newest branch has captured us all over again.
Taking advantage of the spectacular Hidaka Mountains which run through the east of Hokkaido, Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU have based themselves at the base of Mt. Tomamu, a 1,239-meter mountain that offers unbeatable hiking opportunities in summer and snow sports aplenty in winter. The resort is home to two sets of eye-catching towers offering top quality accommodation, while at ground level you’ll find restaurants, an outdoor center, open air spa, a mall, and even an indoor beach.
With accommodation spread over the higher floors of both Hoshino Resorts RESONARE Tomamu and The Tower you can expect impressive views from every room, with RISONARE Tomamu offering suites that boast at least 100 square meters filled out with comfy beds, sophisticated living areas and a sauna and jet bath overlooking the splendid Hokkaido nature. The numerous rooms are set up for all combinations of visitors whether you’re coming alone, as a couple, a family, or a group. While both sets of towers are open over summer, they both have their resting periods with RISONARE Tomamu open from around June to October, then December to March and Tomamu The Tower open from around the end of April to October, then December to April.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast as part of the package at Tomamu The Tower or for an extra fee at RISONARE Tomamu before heading out to explore the plethora of activities going on in and around the resort. Taking to the sky is one of the best ways to appreciate the full splendour of the Hidaka Mountains which can be done by floating up in a hot air balloon. Back on the ground there are walking and children's activities as well as water sports including the likes of rafting and canoeing. With Hokkaido famous for its snow-rich winters, the resort offers a whole host of wintry activities from skiing and snowboarding to its very own Ice Village and Christmas themed events.
If Hoshino didn’t already offer us enough options for appreciating the beauty of Hokkaido, heading up the neighboring Mt. Tomamu brings you the perfectly located UNKAI TERRACE. Hovering just above the clouds with a view over the surrounding mountains, the terrace’s commanding position gives both hotel guests and visitors the chance to see the Hikada Mountains in all their glory. While the most celestial views are sure to be seen at sunrise and sunset, early morning promises one of the most peaceful experiences.
