At The Life, check in begins at 4pm but for those arriving earlier there’s a bag storage area where you can leave your luggage while getting acquainted with the city in the morning. As soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted with a genuine smile and a quick chat about your recent travels. Once checked in, you are given a brief explanation of how your stay will work, and will be given a flyer with all the necessary information about your room, amenities menus, hours of operation, wi-fi codes, etc. This flyer comes in handy during your stay so we recommend you keep it safe with you.

Besides the sleeping amenities, the best part about staying at The Life Hostel it's the cool atmosphere created both by the space, the staff working here, and the open-minded guests (both local and foreign) who end up hanging out the bar and lounge area well into the night. The bar, which includes a DJ booth, is fully stocked, and is just as good as any drinking option around town, and a good option if you want to chill close to “home” at the end of the day. The staff are super friendly, bilingual, and many having lived abroad, are eager to interact with guests, share life experiences, and even throw in some travel recommendations. This social interaction rubs onto other guests spending the night here, as well as the locals popping in for a drink. If you wish to do so, you’ll end up exchanging stories with one another, making new friends, and making your time in Fukuoka an unforgettable one.
