Where to Stay in Roppongi

NAVITIME TRAVEL EDITOR

Being one of the more expensive areas in Tokyo, Roppongi is home to high-end hotels like the Ritz-Carlton, but also more interesting boutique options as well that are popping up more lately. You have a lot of options to choose from, and staying in Roppongi pretty much puts you in the middle of the city with great access to multiple metro lines going in all directions. Also, even
though it’s known for having a vibrant nightlife, you won’t find most places away from the main
intersection to be terribly noisy at night, so you can get a good rest.

    Design Hotel Iroha

If you’re going by Roppongi Hills it can be hard to miss Iroha, as it’s unlike any boutique hotel you’ll see in the city. With rooms that have unexpected angles and creative lighting under the
beds, in the walls, and even in the bathtubs, it’s almost reminiscent of a love hotel (and seems
to operate on that model a bit as well), with a much better design sense. Iroha is right in the
heart of Roppongi, so it’s convenient for travel, but it’s also not outlandishly expensive either
with prices ranging from 12,500 to 30,000 per night.

    The B Roppongi

This modern boutique hotel is located one minutes from Roppongi Station which gives you immediate access to Roppongi Crossing and all the area has to offer. On the first floor there is a cafe and breakfast area and the basement has an izakaya for late night meals. There’s also
parking available for guests with cars, which is pretty rare for a hotel of this size in the area. The B Roppongi is more about comfort and no-frills value, but it’s perfect for your average business
traveler or couple looking for something comfortable at a reasonable price.

    Zabutton

This coffee shop/hostel is located in the quiet neighborhood of Higashi Azabu between Azabu-
Juban Station and Akabanebashi Station, and within walking distance of Tokyo Tower and Shiba Park. It is also within easy access of Zojo-ji, one of the largest temple complexes in Tokyo. With both shared and private rooms ranging from 3,500 yen to 8,000 yen, this is a great option for travelers on a budget, and is also a great way to meet other travelers and get tips for exploring the city.
