Standard Nagoya Breakfasts
Nagoya coffee shops are famous for their breakfast specials. Here are few where you can get a hearty breakfast to start the day.
Coffee Shop Kako (Hanaguruma Main Shop)
This coffee shop in Kokusai Center Station on the Sakura-dori subway line opened in 1972. It was the first shop in Nagoya to roast its own beans. Gentle light from the stained glass windows bathes the retro-style interior.
The Chantilly Rouge breakfast is highly recommended: ogura red bean paste and fresh whipped cream on toast, topped with four kinds of jam. A very Nagoya-like breakfast dish! charming.
Cafe de Lyon Weekend Special
Located an 8-minute walk from Kokusai Center Station on the Sakura-dori subway line in a residential area, this café is famous for its parfaits and handcrafted cakes during the week.
On weekends and national holidays, though, a morning special is offered.
Bitter caramel sauce spread on a thick piece of toast is accompanied by a sandwich (using bread baked with cream), which makes for a filling meal.
Top Fruits Yaobun Is for Fruit Lovers
This store is in a residential area that is a 5-minute walk from Nagoya City Art Museum.
