  • Appi Kogen Ski Resort

    This is a popular ski resort that cares about the quality of its slopes and where guests can enjoy “aspirin snow” which is fluffy powder snow with little humidity. There are 21 various runs including long courses that even beginners can enjoy and ungroomed snow courses with a maximum gradient of 32 degrees intended for those more advanced making for a snow resort with something for everyone from families to expert skiers and snowboarders. On site is a ski and snowboard school that offers various lessons to help students improve safely and enjoyably. In addition to its slopes the resort has a complete restaurant and lounge area that groups and families will appreciate.
  • Geto Kogen Resort
    Iwate Pref. Kitakamishi Wagachouiwasakishinden
    This is a ski resort in Kitakami City Iwate Prefecture. The resort has one of the richest snowfalls in the Tohoku region and skiers can enjoy a long season of powder snow. Every year many visitors come to the resort from both within and outside the prefecture. There are a total of 14 unique slopes. For skiers who love powder snow we recommend the non-compacted snow course where the best powder snow can be enjoyed during snowy weather. There is a food court which offers a wide selection such as curry and ramen noodles rental shops and a childcare facility. Also there is a large outdoor natural hot spring bath called the “Usagimori no yu” and it is pleasing to have many facilities in one complex.
  • Sapporo Teine

    Sapporo Teine is the largest leisure facility in the suburbs of Sapporo. About 40 minutes from Sapporo City center, it enjoys good access, being a mere seven minutes from the Teine Interchange on the Sapporo Expressway. The Highland Zone with an elevation of 1,023 meters is a ski resort which was also used as a competition venue at the Sapporo Olympics held in 1972. There are plenty of ski slope attractions including the Terrain Park with its dynamic atmosphere and the Kyoryu Kids Park, where powerful dinosaurs can be played with. There is also free all-day parking that can accommodate 3,000 cars.

    A ski resort located in Minamiaizu Town, Minamiaizu County, Fukushima Prefecture. The resort has 12 courses as well as a kids park, making it a popular destination for families with children. The resort also allows snowboarding and is renowned for its halfpipe facility. The resort’s restaurant serves yakisoba curry, tomato ramen, and other favorite cheap eats from the Aizu area.
  • Hoshino Resorts Tomamu Ski Area

    This ski resort is operated by Hoshino Resorts Tomamu in Shimukappu Village, Yufutsu County, Hokkaido. Its season typically runs from December first to April first. With a variety of 29 courses catering to beginners, intermediate, and advanced level skiers, including an open area for advanced skiers only, you’ll definitely find the right run for your level. It fills with families, too, and there are great areas for kids learning to ski such as their Nipo Town zone.
  • Gassan Ski Resort

    This is a ski resort exclusively for summer skiing at Mt. Ubagatake (the second peak of Mt. Gassan) in Yamagata Prefecture approximately 25 minutes by car from Gassan Interchange on the Yamagata Expressway. As it is a ski resort in a heavy snow area it opens in April when other ski resorts close and skiing is possible until summer and the snow disappears. There are four slopes and the natural bumps utilizing the natural terrain are perfect for practicing mogul skiing. The biggest attraction is that it is warm and visitors can enjoy skiing in light clothing and even short sleeves. Skiing under the blue sky looking over the fresh green spreading below is refreshing.

    A ski resort located in Kitashiobara Village, Yama County, Fukushima Prefecture. In addition to courses for all skill levels, the resort also has a family slope. In addition, the resort offers snowshoe trekking tours during which participants can view the beautiful natural winter scenery of Urabandai as well as the area’s famous “yellow fall” frozen waterfalls dyed yellow by sulfur and iron deposits. The resort is visited by large numbers of local families as well as skiers from far and wide.
  • Niseko Village

    This ski resort is on the southeast slope of Mt. Niseko Annupuri, which means “a mountain with a steep cliff and a river running below.” It offers lots of opportunities for fun, including snowmobiling and snowshoeing, not to mention skiing and snowboarding. Its 27 courses feature amazing variety, and they all run through beautiful forest. There’s access to the Grand Hirafu Resort from the top of the Wonderland Chair lift at the summit.

    This ski park is located on Mt. Mizunashi in Kannonji, Higashine City. Known for its consistent quality and snow condition, these five slopes and four parks are covered with 100% natural power snow. This well designed park has a dedicated escalator connecting the parking lot directly to the Jangle Plaza where the information counter, changing rooms, shops, and a restaurant serving pizza from its specialized pizza oven are all in one spot.
  • Aizukogen Takahata Ski Area

    A ski resort located in Minamiaizu Town, Minamiaizu County, Fukushima Prefecture. The resort has a total of 10 courses for beginners to experts. There’s also a free rest space and restaurant—the fresh-baked bread and karaage fried chicken are particularly popular. Many skiers from far and wide come here. The resort is for skiing only and snowboarding is prohibited.
