- A hot spring district located in Unzen-Amakusa National Park, Japan's first national park, and one of its biggest appeals is its commanding view of Mt. Unzen and the many other 1,000 meter high mountains in the area. The area is said to have been developed as a hot spring resort some 350 years ago by a man named Kato Zenuemon and later grew and expanded as a popular destination for foreigners visiting Nagasaki as a place to escape the summer heat. The area's colorless or milky white acidic sulfur springs are strongly antibacterial and are said to aid in recovery from fatigue and promote health in addition to easing eczema, frostbite, cuts, and other ailments.

- A seaside hot spring district facing Tachibana Bay which boasts the hottest waters in Japan. This ancient hot spring destination, situated at the foot of Mt. Unzen, is even noted in the Hizen fudoki, a record of the area compiled in the early Nara period. From the 1900s, the area came to be seen as a health resort, and today it still generates an abundant flow of piping hot water from some 30 source springs. The area's springs contain sodium and are extremely hot, reaching 105 ° C at the source. Steam rises up from the ground everywhere in the town, and onsen-mushi, steaming foods using this hot spring steam, is a popular local activity. Hot Foot 105, a new footbath facility opened in 2010, takes its name from its 105° C source spring waters and, at 105 meters in length, it is Japan's longest hot spring footbath. There's also a footbath area designed to be walked through and a footbath area for pets.

The hotel's chloride spring contains an abundance of iron, manganese, sodium, and calcium and is characterized by its turbid yellowish color. Its waters are said to aid recovery from fatigue in addition to easing nerve pain, joint pain, chronic skin diseases, frozen shoulders, and other ailments. Note that the bathhouse becomes extremely crowded after Huis Ten Bosch closes, and perspective visitors are encouraged to come here as early as possible.

- Hirado Onsen is a relatively new hot spring, while Tanoura Onsen in Hirado City has been associated with the great monk Kukai since ancient times. Thanks to the completion of the Hirado Onsen Hot Water Supply Center in 2000, today Hirado Onsen supplies the area with an abundant 288 tons of piping hot water every day. Hirado Senrigahama Onsen is a natural resort area blending forest and sea located in the city of Hirado, a former castle town with an exotic atmosphere blessed by a bountiful ocean. The waters of the area's mildly alkaline sodium hydrocarbonate spring are clear, tasteless, and odorless. Nakaeno Island, Kasuga Village, and Mt. Yasumandake, part of the Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region World Heritage Site, are located nearby, which visitors can travel to via tour bus.

- A hot spring district located on the southern tip of Sasebo City, one of its greatest charms is its magnificent location overlooking Omura Bay. A relatively new hot spring district developed in 1993, the area's chloride springs contain an abundance of sodium, magnesium, and other minerals. Their waters are said to aid recovery from fatigue and promote health in addition to easing muscle soreness, nerve pain, and reduced gastrointestinal function. They are also said to be highly moisturizing and thus are particularly popular with women. Conveniently located near Huis Ten Bosch and numerous other tourist attractions, the area bustles with visitors year-round.
