- Kouri Island is located north of the main island of Okinawa, Yagaji Island. It is surrounded by emerald green seas, with a circumference of about eight kilometers. In 2005, the Kouri Bridge opened to connect the island with Yagaji Island, becoming a remote island that could now be reached by car from the main island. There are old houses and fields of sugar cane on the island, and the original Okinawan landscape remains remarkably unchanged. From ancient times, it has been given the names, “Love Island” and “God’s Island”, so there are also a lot of couples who visit this island.

- Taketomi Island is one of the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa Prefecture, which has a circumference of about nine kilometers. It is about six kilometers from Ishigaki Island which is the center of Yaeyama and it takes about 10 minutes to get there by ferry. It is a beautiful island where you can strongly get a feeling of typical Okinawa, such as the white sand on the red tiled roof of private residences and the brightly colored flowers typical of the south. On the west side of the island, there is Kaiji Beach which is famous for “Hoshizuna” (star sand), which is one of Yaeyama’s most popular tourist destinations.

- Zamami Island is an island located 40 kilometers west of Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. It is the main island of the village of Zamami in the Kerama Islands group. The contrast between the pure white coral sands and the emerald green seas is wonderful, with divers from all over the world gathering here. The rich coral reefs became a registered area of the Ramsar Convention in 2005 as an area of ocean that nurtures living things. Since then, the area of ocean meeting the registration requirements increased during 2015 and the actual registered area expanded. Also, the sandy beaches are also spawning grounds for sea turtles and in the winter a pod of humpback whales come to give birth and raise their young. It is a beautiful island where you can experience nature.

- An island floating around nine kilometers northwest of the Motobu Peninsula. About a 30-minute ferry ride from Motobu Port. Here you can also find an abundance of local specialty products, including shima rakkyo (Okinawa shallots), jimami (peanuts), and Ie beef. The Ie Island Lily Festival is held in spring around the time some one million Easter lilies come into bloom.

Kudaka Island was believed to be the first place in the Ryukyu Islands that the creator goddess Amamikiyo made after descending from Heaven, and since ancient times it has been venerated as an “island of the gods.” There are many sacred sites on Kudaka Island, such as Udunmya. Many of these places have been sacred to the Ryukuan people since ancient times, and visitors should be aware that some places are off-limits to non-locals.

- Yagaji Island is located north of the main island of Okinawa, and it is an island floating on the Haneji inland sea. The area is about eight square kilometers. The east side of the main island of Okinawa is connected by the Yagaji Bridge, Ojima Island and the Haneji O Bridge, while the west of the main island of Okinawa is connected by the Warumi Bridge and Kouri Island is connected to Yagaji Island by the Kouri Bridge. In the tidal flatlands, migratory birds flying in and there are black mangroves (mangrove plants) which grow in excess of 10 meters in height. In 1976 during the Showa period, the entire island was designated as a national wildlife sanctuary.

- Aka Island is part of the Kerama Islands group. It belongs to Zamami in Shimajiri District, Okinawa Prefecture. It is the setting of the movie “Marilyn ni aitai” (“I want to meet Marilyn”) based on the true story of a male dog Shiro who swam across the sea to meet a female dog Marilyn who was in Zamami Island on the other side. On the island, there is also a statue of Shiro. The island is connected to Geruma Island by way of the Aka Bridge and is connected with Fukaji Island by way of Geruma Bridge, so therefore it is possible to reach the island by car or by bicycle.

- Situated approximately 100 kilometers west of Naha, the island is located in the most westerly position of the Okinawan archipelago. Since the Ryukyu dynastic period, it was also called “Kumi island” due to its beauty. Such as the reef “Hateno beach”, the pure white sands made from coral and the beauty of the cobalt blue sea—It is said to be the most beautiful in the Orient. On the other hand, this is also an ideal diving spot where you can encounter humpback whales, whale sharks, dolphins, etc. There are a number of strong Okinawan liquors (Awamori) distilled from rice or millet from Kume Island and these are also very popular among strong Okinawan liquors.
