    This zenzai (red bean sweet) specialty shop is in Toguchi of Motobu Town in Kunigami County, across from the town market. Okinawa's zenzai is different from that of Honshu in that it generally refers to shaved ice combined with sweet boiled kidney beans and other toppings. “Aragaki Zenzai” only serves this type of zenzai, and since the store opened, it has enjoyed popularity for over 50 years.

    Enjoy some iced zenzai (red bean sweet) at this Japanese sweets cafe. This popular item is made from specially prepared ice that is nice and fluffy, along with black molasses featuring a light sweetness. It is topped with rich-tasting rice-flour dumplings containing shell ginger and Japanese mugwort, as well as boiled beans. Other popular options include old-fashioned ice cream and imagawayaki (Japanese muffin with bean jam) with rice-flour dumpling.

    暑い夏は冷たいミルクぜんざいに限ります。スナックパインと一緒にいただきました。ぜんざいは量か少なかったですが、ぜんざいもパインも美味しかったです。

    Koto Shuri Kari Sanfan is a teahouse located in the Shuri Ikehata-cho district that specializes in Buku Buku Tea. Buku Buku Tea is a uniquely Okinawan form of tea that involves scattering popped rice grains on top of the tea before serving it. It was popular among the elite families in Shuri during the era of the Ryukuan kings, and was apparently served to foreign guests as a special delicacy. At Koto Shuri Kari Sanfan, visitors can enjoy making and drinking Buku Buku Tea.

    島へ向かって左手の突き当たりにあるので、あまり知られていない穴場スポット。サービスは良い。夫婦でお茶だけも良いと好感を持った。写真も撮りましょうか？と声掛けしてくれた。

    場所が分かりにくい。中城城跡を目指して三育学園を過ぎたとこ。右に行けば城跡の交差点を左へ折れる。外人住宅を改造したカフェがいくつか集中しているとこで札幌スープカレーの店が近くにある。ピザの店も。サンスーシとは「憂いなし」というフランス語らしい。ドイツには宮殿の名も。女の子たちが好みそうな現代風カフェだが、メニューは京風のカレーうどんとか丼物が中心。価格やや高め。カード利用には注意。
