- This experience-type tourist facility is located in Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Pieces such as tableware and vases of Miyama's many pottery kilns are displayed and sold here. In addition, visitors can enjoy the pottery experience workshop while receiving guidance in creating pottery by hand or at a potter's wheel and in painting finished works. A reservation is required, due to the number of visitors, both domestic and international.

- Kagoshima Ichikikushikino-shi Ozato 648
- This strawberry farm is located about a seven-minute drive from Ichiki Station. The farm grows two types of strawberries; Saga Honoka, which have little sourness and high sugar content, and Benihoppe, which are characterized by their juiciness. The farm grows their strawberries in carefully-cultivated soil rather than in a more easily managed hydroponic medium in order to maximize their fragrance and richness of their strawberries. Thanks to the farm's efforts to use as little agrochemicals as possible, it is possible to eat their strawberries without needing to wash them first.

いちご狩りに行きました。3連休最終日で前日から天気が良くて絶好のいちご狩り日和でした。ほかの方も同様な考えで多くの家族連れがいました。午前中だったのでまだ大きくて美味しそういちごを詰むことができました。

- This activity and learning facility is located inside Yamagami no Sato Park, a large activity-oriented leisure facility surrounded by murmuring river and lush greenery a 20-minute drive from JR Ijuin Station. Here visitors can try making soba noodles and bread. Soba noodle making participants get to make soba noodles using buckwheat flour exclusively from the local Fukiage-cho area; after your noodles are done, you can cook and eat them on the spot. Bread making participants receive courteous guidance, ensuring even absolute beginners can have fun making their very own original bread.

- Kagoshima Hioki-shi Higashiichikicho Miyama Odawara 2214
- This strawberry picking tourist farm is located a four-mintue drive from the Miyama Interchange on the Minamikyushu Expressway. Here you can pick huge, sweet Satsuma Otome strawberries, a variety created in Kagoshima. The farm's safe, healthy strawberries are grown using reduced agricultural chemicals, and you can choose an all-you-can-eat course which lets you eat all the strawberries you can pick on the spot; there's also a take-home-only course. Picking season is from January to around May. The farm also sells a luxurious soft-serve ice cream topped with fresh strawberries which can only be enjoyed on-site; and handmade strawberry jam crafted by slowly stewing strawberries together with granulated sugar and lemon juice.

Kagoshima Areas
Over 100 active volcanoes across Kagoshima make it one of the Japan's most exciting prefectures. The prefectural capital, Kagoshima city, looks out to one of the prefecture’s most spectacular volcanoes, Sakurajima, an island of its own that can be visited and seen close up or admired from afar, with the promise of breathtaking sunsets complete with frequent puffs of smoke and ash. Down the Satsuma Peninsula, the most southerly part of mainland Japan, waterfalls, sand onsen, and fascinating history await, while Kagoshima's abundance of satsuma imo (sweet potato) provide a wholesome snack as well as one of Japan's favourite drinks - shochu.
