- A classic “yoshoku” Japanese-style Western food restaurant. An old-fashioned case filled with plastic models of the restaurant’s dishes stands in front of the establishment. Inside, the restaurant sports a retro “American” decor. The menu consists of such staple “yoshoku” dishes as hamburg steak; breaded, deep fried shrimp; spaghetti Napolitan; and omelet rice. The restaurant’s signature dish is its “black bear” kurokuma shaved ice, a contrast to the “white bear” shirokuma shaved ice so popular in the region. Kurokuma consists of a light brown flavored ice heaped high in a tall parfait glass. The source of the brown coloring is coffee, and the ice, flavored with condensed milk, is garnished with a refreshing coffee fragrance.

黎明館の中にあるビュッフェ・レストラン。お盆のランチ時だったので、混雑で順番待ちし、かつ相席でした。料理はヘルシーで種類も豊富。デザートも時間で違うものが出されたり、目移りしっ放しでした。 お醤油屋さんのレストランということで、いろいろな醤油を試せたり、卵かけご飯のおいしい食べ方を示してくれていたり、新鮮でした。 この日館内の展示は見ませんでしたが、駐車券にスタンプも押して頂けます。

- This cafe and restaurant is located close to the entrance to Kirishima Shrine a 10-minute drive from Kirishimajingu Station on the JR Nippo Main Line. Here you can enjoy healthy cuisine made with such choice ingredients as Berkshire pork, seasonal vegetables, and Isa rice. The popular Materia Lunch Plate, limited to just 10 customers a day, is a hearty and filling meal which comes with Berkshire pork tenderloin cutlets, seven varieties of small sides, tempura, salad, a nimono stewed dish, and a fish dish. The restaurant also has a kids' menu, and even families with children can have a relaxing meal here. Pets are allowed in the terrace seating area. Additionally, the restaurant sells homemade bread and knickknacks.

We had lunch here after visiting Kirishima Shrine. All the dishes taste good and the fired pork is the best.

ここのバイキングは種類も多いですし立地がフレスポ内でアクセスもいいのでよく行きます。週末はとても混んでいます。いろいろな料理がそろっていておすすめです。

Kagoshima Areas
Over 100 active volcanoes across Kagoshima make it one of the Japan's most exciting prefectures.
